Shawn Mendes recently stopped by the Man Enough podcast to talk about toxic masculinity, his relationship with Camila Cabello, and finding his biggest fear.
According to the singer, the turning point actually came during an argument with his pop star girlfriend.
“I raised my voice to her and she said, ‘I don’t like it when you raise your voice. Why did you raise your voice?’ And I got so defensive, ”he told hosts Justin Baldoni, Liz Plank and Jamey Heath, according to Entertainment Tonight.
“I was like, ‘I wasn’t raising my voice against you!’ And I raised my voice against her, “he added. “And I felt it shrink and I felt myself grow and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is the worst. “I’m so scared of being evil. I’m so scared of being mean.
Mendes continued, “Maybe there is even some evil inside of me, and I just have to accept that it exists. And this other part of me, it just has to be here and we just have to work together. until he ends up working in all the trauma and all the flaws are erased from him and he’s fine. But I can’t avoid the fact that there is a bit of darkness inside me and letting that darkness be there is a horrible feeling. “
When it comes to catching up with the fight, Mendes says Cabello made things better.
