BIOGRAPHY OF ADRIANO GIANNINI
Actor. Son of actor Giancarlo Giannini and director Livia Giampalmo. His parents separate when he is four. At eighteen, to earn some money and without any interest in a film career, he began working as an assistant cameraman in the film “Evelina and her sons” (1990) directed by his mother. From here began a ten-year career that led him to work with operators of the caliber of Dante Spinotti, Giuseppe Rotunno and directors such as Giuseppe Tornatore (Una pure formality, 1994). There are also many collaborations with overseas artists, from Sylvester Stallone (Daylight, 1996) and Jean-Claude Van Damme to Anthony Minghella (The talent of Mr. Ripley, 1999). Later, determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, he enrolled in a theater school and participated in some workshops. In 2001 he made his debut on the big screen as the co-star of “The revolution on two horses” by Maurizio Sciarra. In the same year the director Guy Ritchie chooses him to play alongside Madonna in “Swept Away” (2002, remake of “Swept away by an unusual fate in the blue August sea” by Lina Wertmuller) in the role that he had been his father Giancarlo.
