BIOGRAPHY OF ANITA BJÖRK
Actress. He became passionate about acting while still a teenager and at the beginning of the 1940s he attended the Royal Dramatic Theater, soon obtaining important roles. Protagonist for many years both on stage and on the big screen, especially directed by the maestro Ingmar Bergman, among his successes are remembered “La Signora Giulia” (1951) by Alf Sjöberg and “Women in waiting” (1952) by Bergman, “Gente at night “(1954) by Nunnally Johnson,” The Knights of Jerusalem “(1955) by Walter Reisch and” Gli amorosi “(1964) by Mai Zetterling. In 1951 Alfred Hitchcock chooses her as the protagonist for the film “I confess”. However, upon her arrival in Hollywood, the actress is denied this important opportunity due to her relationship with the writer Stig Dagerman – with whom she also has a daughter – who at the time had not yet officially divorced her ex-wife; a fact not pleasing to the American film establishment. Among her most recent films: “With the best of intentions” (1992) by Bille August, in which she plays Queen Victoria, and “Private Conversations” (1996) by Liv Ullmann. In 1997 he worked again for Bergman in “Vanità e Affanni”, a TV film presented in 1998 at the Cannes Film Festival. After Dagerman’s death in 1954, she was also romantically linked to another writer, Graham Greene. He died in Stockholm at the age of 89.
