BRENDAN FRASER BIOGRAPHY
Actor. His father’s reporter job forces the Fraser family to move frequently from town to town. In this way, little Brendan constantly changes school moving between Canada, the United States and Europe. At the age of seven he lives in Holland and here he takes his first steps towards the world of art. But London will bring him closer to the theater, where he participates in two musicals: “Oliver!” and “Oklahoma”. This new passion leads him to Seattle to attend Cornish College of the Arts. Once he graduated, his acting career struggles to take off, landing only small roles in insignificant films. In the second half of the nineties, finally, things seem to get better thanks to the hiring as the lead actor of “George the King of the Jungle?” (1997), by Sam Weisman, in which his physical prowess and comic talent dominate, and his critically acclaimed performance in Bill Condon’s “Demons and Gods” (1998). Its name is certainly linked, then, to that of the film “The Mummy” (1999), shot by Stephen Sommers, which literally hit the box office. To shoot the sequel, “The mummy – The return” (2001), always with the same director, he renounces as many job offers. Actor who is very comfortable with the fantasy and adventure genre, he also stands out particularly in a drama, such as “Crash – Physical Contact” (2004), by Paul Haggis. He then retraces his steps with “Inkheart – The Legend of the Heart of Ink” (2008), by Iain Softley, and with the third episode of the saga “The Mummy – The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” (2008), this time directed by Rob Cohen. He married actress Afton Smith, whom he met during a barbecue at Winona Ryder’s house, with whom he had three children. But their marriage didn’t hold up, mostly due to Brendan’s work commitments. He is said to be particularly friendly and helpful with fans who stop him on the street. He is a great passionate and admirable photographer.
