BIOGRAPHY OF DANIELE FORMICA
Actor, theater director, host and voice actor. His father, Wilson Ravasio is an Irish violinist, while his mother Eugenia is an Italian-born waitress. During his adolescence, while attending Trinity College in Dublin, his passion for acting arose in him which led him to make his debut on the tables of the stage at the beginning of the seventies in Jean-Louis Barrault’s “Rabelais”. He moved to England in 1971 in the staging of “I Claudius” directed by Tony Richardson. In the same period he made his debut on the big screen, getting some appearances in Italian films such as “Cerca di capirmi” (1970) by Mariano Laurenti, in which he plays alongside Massimo Ranieri, Didi Perego and Barbara Bouchet. In 1973 he joined the company of the Teatro Stabile dell’Aquila and began to participate in many television dramas including “Lungo il fiume e sull’acqua” by Alberto Negrin (1973), “The assassination of the Rosselli brothers” by Silvio Maestranzi (1974 ) and “Giandomenico Fracchia – Forbidden dreams of one of us” (1975), which exploits the popularity of the character created by Paolo Villaggio. In 1979 he was called by Pupi Avati to interpret the role of Giorgio in his “Cinema!”, But throughout the seventies he alternated cinema with television appearances and theater, also attempting the direction of direction. In 1978 “Terapia di pila” gets an incredible success, pushing him to try his hand at new works such as “Mothers & sons” (1984) and “A luce rossa – X Rated” (1985). In 1980 he was hired for “A tutto gag”, the television variety of Romolo Siena, in which he staged with Massimo Boldi, Simona Marchini and Sydne Rome and the following year he was next to Monica Vitti and Vittorio Gassman in the cast of “Camera hotel “by Mario Monicelli. In 1990 he married Ombretta Bertuzzi and in the decade appeared on TV in the series “Linda e il brigadiere” and in the TV film “Thieves are born”, but also in the program “Paperissima”, hosted by Lorella Cuccarini and Marco Columbro. After having interpreted in 1998 “Dio c’e” by Alfredo Arciero, in the 2000s he began his career as a voice actor lending his voice to the characters of “Cars – Roaring Engines” and “The Robinsons – A space family”. In 2002 he received an award at the Finale Ligure Dubbing Festival for Randall’s voice in the Italian edition of “Monsters & Co.” He returned to the cinema in 2008 to interpret Pino Insegno’s “Ti stramo”, a parody of the youth line of “Three meters above the sky”, followed in the same year by “Pa-ra-da” debut feature film by Marco Pontecorvo. In 2009 his last appearance on the big screen in “The Last Summer” by Eleonora Giorgi. He died at the age of 61 of pancreatic cancer.
