An exchange between a Fox News reporter and White House press secretary Jen Psaki has been the subject of a Twitter storm following accusations by Donald Trump, Jr. that the White House is enlightening the American public.
The exchange took place during a White House press conference on June 28. Fox’s Peter Doocy asked Psaki about accusations the Republican Party funded the police by refusing to back President Joe Biden’s US bailout. The plan offered stimulus funds to American families and public institutions in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Something one of the advisers said over the weekend,” Doocy asked. “Cedric Richmond – he said,” The Republicans funded the police by not supporting the US bailout. “But how is it that this is an argument to be made when the president never mentioned needing money for the police to stop a wave of crime while he was selling the US bailout?”

The always cool Psaki had a clear answer. “The president mentioned that the US bailout,” she explained, “they – state and local funding – something that was supported by the president, a lot of Democrats who supported and voted for the project. law – could help ensure cops were kept on the spot in communities across the country. Doocy went on to argue that the US bailout was sold to Congress and the US public as COVID-19 related legislation, not one that supports law enforcement, even though it allocated funds. funds to do so.

Apparently not realizing that a bill can do two things at once, Don Jr. took to Twitter to accuse Psaki of having gas lights.
“Hey Siri, what is gas lighting?” He tweeted. (We find this ironic, since Psaki’s observation that legislation can do two things at the same time is not a flash of gas.)
The Twitterverse wouldn’t take it.
