BIOGRAPHY OF ELISA

Born in Trieste but originally from Monfalcone and resident in Gradisca d’Isonzo in the province of Gorizia, Elisa is one of the few Italian singer-songwriters to write almost all of her lyrics in English; she also sang in Spanish (in the songs Háblame and Sentir Sin Embargo), French (Pour Que l’Amour Me Quitte) and Kurdish (the song Kuminist, Nostalgia), as well as in Italian. She was discovered by the general public at the age of 19 with her debut album Pipes & Flowers, but her fame came thanks to her successful participation in the 2001 Sanremo Festival with the song Luce (sunsets in the north east). The singer-songwriter has sold about 2.5 million records, mainly in Italy, in her sixteen-year career. In May 2009, through his “Fun Club”, he made it known that he was expecting a child from Andrea Rigonat, his partner and member of his band. Emma Cecile was born on 22 October 2009. On 6 December 2012 she announced that she is expecting her second child, Sebastian, born on 20 May 2013.
