In what is perhaps the least surprising news of the week, Rep. Matt Gaetz was accused of sleeping with a minor.
Late yesterday, The New York Times reported that the Justice Department is investigating whether the anti-gay lawmaker “had sex with a 17-year-old girl and paid for her to travel with him.” .
Gaetz is believed to be part of a larger investigation into his boyfriend, former Florida tax collector Joel Greenberg, accused of child sex trafficking and with whom he was pictured partying, alongside Roger Stone , “ sexual tempter ”, in 2019.

Greenberg pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges last year and was sent to jail earlier this month for violating the terms of his bail. His trial is scheduled for June.
Meanwhile, Gaetz has yet to be charged with anything and of course denies everything. He calls it all an “extortion effort against my family for $ 25 million … in exchange for the disappearance of this case.”
Last night he appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show, where he looked heavily botoxed and incredibly off-balance, making all kinds of insane claims. So crazy, in fact, that even Carlson, who is usually never one to shy away from a good conspiracy theory, found it hard to believe.
“I know there was a demand for money in exchange for a commitment that he could do away with this investigation with his co-conspirators,” Gaetz said. “They even claimed to have specific relationships inside Biden’s White House!”
Wait what?
“Now I don’t know if it’s true,” he continued. “They promised Joe Biden would forgive me. Obviously, I don’t need forgiveness. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I haven’t done anything wrong or wrong. “
Gaetz, whose forehead remained frozen throughout the interview, grew more and more upset, telling Carlson he thought it might have been a shrewd extortion plot led by no one else. as representative Ted Lieu from California.
“You know, tonight, Ted Lieu, a Democrat, was calling on me to be removed from the House Judiciary Committee,” he moaned. “I believe we are now in an era of our politics, Tucker, where people are messed up trying to get them out of the conversation.”
Gaetz then claimed it was not the first time he had felt intimidated by law enforcement, pointing to an alleged incident involving Carlson himself two years ago.
“You and I went to dinner about two years ago, your wife was there, and I brought a friend of mine, you’ll remember her,” Gaetz said.
“And she was actually threatened by the FBI, she was told that if she didn’t want to comply with the fact that somehow I was involved in a fee-for-service system, she might face some problems. And so I believe there are people in the Department of Justice who are trying to dirty me.
To which a deeply confused Carlson replied, “I don’t remember the woman you’re talking about or the background at all, honestly.
After the commercial break, Carlson returned to the airwaves to call his exchange with Gaetz “one of the strangest interviews I’ve ever done.”
Coming from a dude who interviewed literally every human garbage imaginable, that’s saying something!
