The former New York mayor turned Trump henchman woke up to federal investigators executing a search warrant at his Manhattan apartment at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
Giuliani, who acted as personal counsel for former President Trump, is under investigation on suspicion of transaction crimes in Ukraine, The New York Times first reported on Wednesday, calling it the “extraordinary gesture” raid.

Last year, federal prosecutors in New York also sought approval from the DoJ to conduct research on its electronic communications. Giuliani is currently under investigation from the Southern District of New York – the same office he once headed as a US prosecutor.
Neither Giuliani nor Trump commented on the raid on Giuliani’s house.

In other ‘uh oh, Rudy’ news, Dominion Voting Systems filed a $ 1.3 billion libel suit against Giuliani in January over false information he released about the 2020 election.
The lawsuit, filed in the Washington District Federal Court, alleges that Giuliani knowingly spread system-related false accusations on various platforms. He claims that Giuliani has engaged in “a viral disinformation campaign on Dominion” citing “50 statements made by Mr. Giuliani in legislative hearings, on Twitter, on his podcast and in the conservative news media, where he recounted a fictitious plot by one of the nation’s largest voting machine makers to return the votes to President Biden. The lawsuit also links Giuliani’s statements to the Jan. 6 Capitol uprising, alleging that his words helped incite violence.
