Oscar-nominated actress Margot Robbie has revealed her dream love for her iconic character, Harley Quinn: bisexual villainous Poison Ivy.
Robbie, who plays Quinn in the DC Comics Extended Universe films, told the Den of Geek website that she lobbied Warner Bros. and the producers of the films to feature Poison Ivy as Harley’s new lover.
“Believe me, I bite their ear all the time,” Robbie told Den of Geek. “They must be tired of hearing this, but I’m like, ‘Poison Ivy, Poison Ivy. Come on, let’s do it. I can’t wait to see a Harley-Poison Ivy relationship onscreen. It would be so much fun. So I will continue to harass them. Do not worry.”

The comics portray both Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn as sexually fluid; their long-standing friendship / criminal relationship has turned romantic from time to time. The pair rank among the comic book brand’s most popular LGBTQ characters, which also include Catwoman, Batwoman, The Question, and Wonder Woman.
This isn’t the first time Robbie has expressed interest in including Poison Ivy as Harley’s lover. In 2018, she told PrideSource, “If you read the comics, you know Poison Ivy and Harley have an intimate relationship. I’m trying to – I’d love to have Poison Ivy cast into the universe, because Harley and Poison Ivy’s relationship is one of my favorite aspects of comics, so I’m looking to explore that onscreen. .
Frankly, we would too. It’s much healthier than Harley’s long-standing abusive relationship with the Joker. Including the relationship would also go a long way in smothering the sting of only seeing LGBTQ characters loosely involved in DC films.
