Another day and another transphobic tweet from Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Just a day after slamming Caitlyn Jenner out as a “Man in a Dress,” Greene yesterday took aim at two trans people with a less public profile.

Ahanu and Petrona, a trans couple from Washington DC, recently appeared on the Emmy-nominated Facebook Watch show Nine Months with Courtney Cox. The heartwarming and inspiring documentary series followed 13 expectant parents on their pregnancy journey.

One segment showed Ahanu and Petrona with their child, as Petrona attempted to breastfeed the child. It was shared by a Twitter user who was disgusted with the idea of two trans parents, and in particular a trans person attempting to breastfeed.

Greene shared his disgust, re-tweeting the video and saying, “This is child abuse !!!!! This baby is in danger! Remove that child immediately. Caring for and raising children should have nothing, absolutely NOTHING, to do with making this man’s unnatural fantasies come true. Men CANNOT give birth or breastfeed. They are mentally unstable.

This is CHILD ABUSE!

This baby is in danger!

Remove that child immediately.

Caring for and raising children should have nothing, absolutely NOTHING, to do with making this man’s unnatural fantasies come true.

Men CANNOT give birth or breastfeed.

They are mentally unstable. https://t.co/1153hNQeyd

In fact, individuals assigned to a male at birth who then made the transition were able to breastfeed or breastfeed infants. It requires the use of hormones to induce lactation and is not easy, as Petrona discovered in her first attempts.

Many of those who responded to Greene criticized his hysterical reaction.

I guess this child will grow up respecting his parents. It might not be your cup of tea, mine or someone else’s, but they are honest.

It is much more than what I can say for you.

So if you cannot breastfeed naturally, should the baby not breastfeed and should be considered child abuse?

Although their relationship is unusual, they seem to have a lot more love in them than you seem to have.

There is a lot of hate in the world, MTG. Can’t you just celebrate love in its various forms?

Jesus would bless them.

I was unable to breastfeed my children. Are you saying they should have been deleted? #ExpelMarjorieTaylorGreene

The episode received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Facebook when it first aired, with many citing Petrona and Ahanu.

“I’m so in love with Ahanu and Petronas adores their baby is so lucky to have amazing parents who will show them what love should be like!” commented a viewer.

“This birth! Hats off to Ahanu and Petrona. From the midwife who wasn’t there to the baby who didn’t cry right away (which was so touching) and the way they behaved – especially Ahanu was amazing. Their mutual support is wonderful, ”said another.
