Another Day and Another Pride Month attack from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
When not criticizing Dr.Anthony Fauci and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or engaging in a double act with her colleague representing Matt Gaetz at pro-Trump rallies, Greene has a lot to say about LGBTQ people. .
Following earlier attacks on embassies displaying pride flags, she took to Twitter yesterday to castigate what may and may not be on the school curriculum.
Greene shared a video of a 14-year-old girl testifying recently at a school board meeting in a suburb of Indianapolis. The girl has not been named.
In the clip, the youngster, who certainly had a difficult upbringing in her formative years, talks about being a “traumatized child” and being adopted into a foster family at the age of four.
She complains that she learned about sex in school, which she believes should be a private matter. She also says she can’t see how she has white privilege, given her own background.

The clip was first shared on Twitter last week and has gone viral. Greene shared it again yesterday and used it to attack schools talking about the critical theory of race, gender identity and sexuality.
“Listen to this child. 💔, ”Greene said. “Every person needs to hear it. BAN critical race theory and STOP sexualizing children NOW with taxpayer funded education. Teaching children about racism and promoting sex, homosexuality and normalizing transgender people is mental / emotional abuse of children.

Hundreds of people responded on Twitter. While some support Greene’s views, many denigrate them, pointing out that if critical race theory is discussed anywhere, it is in colleges, not schools. Others criticized Greene for using the girl’s speech to advance his own political agenda.
Oh, man.
This young girl, unfortunately, seems to have emotional trauma, and I wonder if being exploited on social media is in her best interest?
In addition, no one teaches CRT. 99% had never even heard the term 3 months ago, but somehow it got added to the schools curriculum mid-year?

This story of girls is tragic. But your exploitation of it is vile.

As a teacher in a public school, I can assure you that her story is by no means the norm. We strive to support and uplift ALL of our students, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, background, and to ensure that the school is a safe space for students to learn and be themselves- same.

Name a K-12 public school that teaches CRT. Just one.

Literally every school has sex education, this is where you learn about puberty, genitals, pregnancy, STDs and more. Hell, they even teach you the dangers of sleeping with multiple people and not cheating on your husband.
Maybe you should have listened about not cheating

Critical Race Theory (CRT) has been the subject of discussion for the past 40 years in academic circles, but has only recently entered the general debate. He explores the idea that racism and patterns of discrimination in the United States have shaped its society, legal systems, and institutions.
In recent months, the CRT has become a growing lightning rod for some on the right wing of the GOP to attack anti-racist activists or those on the left.

Many educators and advocates believe that talking about sex in school and teaching children it’s okay to be gay will reduce anti-LGBTQ bullying and support many LGBTQ youth struggling with mental health issues. LGBTQ youth are much more at risk of attempting suicide than their heterosexual peers. They envision suicide about three times more often than heterosexual youth.
As The Trevor Project explains, “All young people deserve to have access to safe and supportive public education, free from harassment and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
“However, the policies known as the ‘No Promo Homo’ and ‘Don’t Say Gay’ laws prohibit educators from fully talking about LGBTQ people, issues and history, or they only allow discussion. negative. These laws prevent supportive teachers from speaking out in the classroom, eliminating safe spaces that are vital for LGBTQ students.
