BIOGRAPHY OF MASSIMO GHINI

Actor. Since he was a teenager, two passions animate him: politics, inherited from his partisan father, and acting. To put the second to good use, he undertakes a long apprenticeship trying, in vain, to enter the Academy of Dramatic Art. However, while dividing himself between the profession of voice actor and radio speaker, he begins to take his first steps on the stage directed by great names, such as Franco Zeffirelli, Giorgio Strehler, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi and Gabriele Lavia. He arrived on the big screen with “Speed ​​Cross” (1979), by Stelvio Massi, but his subsequent career, for a long time, was purely television. His first real success as a film actor came in 1990 with “Italy-Germany 4-3”, directed by Andrea Barzini, in which he plays the role of the protagonist, enjoying the favor of critics and the general public. Particularly significant are also his interpretations under the guidance of Alessandro D’Alatri in “Senza pelle”, by Claudio Virzì in “La bella vita”, both films from 1994, and by Francesco Rosi in “La tregua” (1996). From the 2000s, we remember “Sunday lunch” (2003), directed by Carlo Vanzina, and the landing in the genre of cinepanettoni. The agreement with Christian De Sica turns out to be perfect, so much so that Ghini will definitively replace Massimo Boldi. In 2007, then, he starred in “Whole life in front”, also by Virzì, which earned him a nomination for the Silver Ribbon as best supporting actor and, in 2012, he participated in the TV series “Titanic”, directed by Ciaran Donnelly , an international co-production made on the occasion of the centenary of the shipwreck. He has never abandoned his political passion, so much so that he was the President of the PDS in Rome for ten years, and currently holds the role of Secretary General of the Italian Actors-CGIL Union. He had an affair with Sabrina Ferilli and got married three times, including with the famous actress Nancy Brilli. Since adolescence, he is a great friend of Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Armando De Razza with whom he lived together for a period and shared the aspiration to become an actor.
