Matt Gaetz reportedly paid for sex and has no friends as coworkers drop him left and right

Besides having to pay for sex (allegedly), Matt Gaetz doesn’t have any friends. Or at least none who are ready to come to their defense during their time of need.

As you’ve probably heard by now, the Florida anti-gay congressman is currently trapped in a teen sex / prostitution / illegal drug scandal that seems to be getting worse by the day. Now, to make matters worse, none of his fellow Republicans are standing up for him.

Politico reports:

In the days following news that the Justice Department was investigating whether Gaetz violated sex trafficking laws – an allegation he denies – no Trump aide or family member tweeted at About the congressman from Florida. Nor almost any of Trump’s most important surrogates or Trump-allied conservatives and media figures, including Sean Hannity, Dan Bongino, Charlie Kirk or the President of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, at the CPAC annual conference. which Gaetz had recently appeared on.

According to the Daily Beast, Trump himself has been watching things closely, but aides tell him to stay silent.

Multiple sources claim the ex-president has not spoken to the besieged congressman since the story broke, despite Gaetz’s unconditional loyalty to Trump over the years, which included an offer to step down from Congress to join his impeachment defense team.

Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy also distanced himself from Gaetz, calling the allegations “serious” and said if they turned out to be true he would be stripped of his powers on the committee.

Even Gaetz’s old pal Tucker Carlson seems to have abandoned him after making a messy appearance on his show last week. Carlson subsequently called it “the strangest interview I’ve ever done” and Gaetz hasn’t appeared on the network since.

In fact, the one person who always seems to be around is probably the one Gaetz doesn’t want or need to stand up for: Qanon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Yesterday Greene tweeted, “Show me a woman who spoke out against @mattgaetz! @andrewcuomo has been accused by 9 women of sexual misconduct. Gaetz – 0. It’s nothing but a deep state attack and a media slander festival to bring him down. @ Gop must get up. “

Throughout it all, Gaetz has maintained his innocence and says he has no intention of resigning.
