Of course, a homophobe with a mugshot accused of sexual misconduct is a 2022 GOP favorite

When it comes to sexual impropriety, no one is more forgiving than GOP voters.

Just three years ago, “family-valued” Republican Eric Greitens resigned as governor of Missouri after being accused of sexual misconduct and blackmail. Now he is the frontrunner in his race for the US Senate.

In case you forgot, Greitens resigned in 2018 after being arrested and charged with first-degree invasion of privacy when his former barber-turned-mistress accused him of tying her to a chair. in a basement, blindfolding her, spitting in her mouth, ripping her shirt off, taking a picture of her without her consent, forcing her to give him a blowjob, then blackmailing her to shut up about everything it.

After the scandal erupted, Greitens admitted the case but denied doing anything illegal, then stepped out of the limelight for a while. The charges against him were eventually dropped. Then, in March of this year, he made a political comeback by announcing his intention to replace retired Senator Roy Blunt in 2022.

Since then he has traveled statewide in an attempt to convince Tory voters by convincing them that the whole sex scandal he was wrapped up in a few years ago was truly NBD and that they should totally elect him for them. represent in the US Senate. because God forgives and blah, blah, blah.

And apparently it works!

According to emissourian.com, Greitens, who believes anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people threaten gender-neutral jobs and bathrooms will lead to “adult males [going] in the little girls’ toilets ”, quickly became the leader of his race.

Not only that, but several high-level conservatives have come out of the sewers to endorse it, including esteemed Rudy Giuliani and convicted ex-felon (pardoned by Donald Trump) Bernie Kerik, as well as conservative media figures Mark Cox and Jamie Allman.

He also employed Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle to be his national campaign chair. And it has the backing of billionaire Richard Uihlein, who just donated $ 2.5 million to a newly formed pro-Greitens super PAC.

Oh, and he hooked up with Steve Bannon, postal fraudster and money launderer (also pardoned by Trump).

Like so many Republicans these days (i.e. Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley), Greitens seems to present himself as Trump 2.0. But he does a better, if not more devious, job. As well as artfully lining up with some of the GOP’s more shady players, he makes voters forget about the not-so-Christian lifestyle he leads and the fact that, oh yeah, he has a photo ID.

Keep a close eye on this one, folx.
