BIOGRAPHY OF PIERA DEGLI ESPOSTI
Established theatrical actress, she starred for the company of the Centouno Theater with Gigi Proietti and Antonio Calenda and was the first actress of the Stabile dell’Aquila before reaching success in the late 70s with Joyce’s “Molly cara”. He made his debut in the cinema at the end of the 1960s and during his film career he acted for some of the most important Italian directors such as the Taviani brothers, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Lina Wertmüller and Nanni Moretti. In 1980 he collaborated with the writer Dacia Maraini on the book “Storia di Piera”, inspired by the facts of his childhood, from which in 1983 the homonymous film directed by Marco Ferreri and starring Isabelle Huppert and Hanna Schygulla was made. He has worked in various television productions and has conducted some radio broadcasts for Rai. She has also established herself as an opera director. In 2003 she won the David di Donatello as best supporting actress for “L’ora di religion” by Marco Bellocchio.
