SAM FELL BIOGRAPHY
Director, screenwriter and animator. In 1989 he graduated in Fine Arts. He immediately began a career as a director and animator at various production companies including Aardman Animations; here he was the main animator of “Wat’s Pig”, Peter Lord’s 1996 Oscar nominated short film. Also for Aardman Animations / DreamWorks, he wrote the original story and directed the award-winning animated film “Down the Tube”. (2006), which earned him a BAFTA nomination, and an Annie Award for Best Director. In 2006 he made Universal Pictures’ Adventures of the Mouse Despereaux, for which he was again nominated for the Annie Award for Best Director. Award-winning commercial director, he has also produced and directed many short films and television series. In 2012, together with Chris Butler, he directed “ParaNorman”, nominated for Best Animated Film at the 2013 Oscars, the Years Award – for writing and directing – and the 2013 BAFTA Film Awards.
