Terry Gilliam, born Terrence Vance Gilliam (Minneapolis, November 22, 1940), is an American naturalized British actor, director, screenwriter and film producer (he renounced his US citizenship in January 2006). The sole American member of Monty Python and the main author-animator of the surreal and bizarre cartoons that interspersed the famous show Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Terry Gilliam later became a film director.
