BIOGRAPHY OF TOM HOLLANDER

Thomas Anthony Hollander, known simply as Tom Hollander, he was born the August 25, 1967 in Bristol, but grew up in Oxford. He became passionate about acting from a very young age, attending and becoming a member of the National Youth Theater and the National Youth Music Theater in London. It is at the age of fourteen, in fact, that his first main role in the show dates back to John Diamond (1981). Years will pass before Hollander receives another role on TV and film, in the meantime he continues to train, act in the theater and study, graduating from Cambridge University. After graduation, the actor is not admitted to acting school, but he does not give up and continues to pursue his dream of achieving success.

His is a career already well underway, especially in television, where in 1993 he is one of the main characters of the series Harry. In 1996 he also made his debut in the cinema with two films: the dramatic A choice of love and comedy True Blue – Challenge on the Thames. 1999 is the year in which Hollander is offered two roles that will be most recurrent throughout his career: one in costume in the Victorian series Wives and Daughters and that of the young homosexual in the film Rooms and corridors. The 2000s begin with sentimental comedy Maybe Baby (2000) by Ben Elton and with the spy movie Enigma (2001), directed by Michael Apted. In this period, however, historical and costumed roles prevail both in the cinema Gosford Park (2001) of Robert Altman than on TV with the series The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (2001) and Cambridge Spies (2003).

In 2013 he is at the cinema with Matter of time of Richard Curtis is The Invisible Woman of Ralph Fiennes, but in general Hollander’s career has never suffered setbacks, especially in recent years. Meanwhile on TV he is the protagonist of the series A poet of New York (2014), The Night Manager (2016) and Doctor Thorne (2016).
