Alan Thicke was an actor and songwriter hailing from Canada. Best known for his work in Growing Pains, Unusually Thicke and The Alan Thicke Show, Alan was born in 1947 and died in December 2016 due to a sudden heart attack during a hockey game with his son Carter. He entered Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2013, Brampton Arts Walk of Fame in 2015, and won the Canadian Icon Award in 2016 at the Whistler Film Festival. In addition to films, he has also appeared in a number of TV shows and even hosted some.

Robin Thicke, Alan’s second son, is a songwriter, record producer and singer, best known for his 2013 single ‘Blurred Lines’. He was formerly married to Paula Patton, who herself is an American actress. They have one son, Julian Fuego. Their divorce in 2014 was widely covered by the media.


Carter William Thicke is Alan’s youngest and dearest son with whom he was playing hockey when he suffered a heart attack and died. Carter was named after the famous baseball player, Joe Carter, and he also appeared in a number of episodes of his father’s show, Unusually Thicke.
