The Modern Family sitcom was a huge hit when it aired on ABC from 2009-2020. Besides providing healthy family moments and racking up tons of accolades in the process, it has helped normalize relationships. homosexuals and to open people’s minds to what makes a family.
But according to complaints recently obtained from the Federal Communications Commission, it was also a disgusting, all-naked gay sex festival, unsuitable for young eyes that should never have been allowed to be shown on the air. prime-time television.
Observer.com recently got hold of ten pages of complaints filed against the show, which aired its final season last year, and they offer an interesting glimpse into the kind of homophobic bullshit ABC had to contend with when he produced the revolutionary show.
“ABC TV show promotions that consistently air sexually explicit X, R rated and sexually explicit commercials during … prime-time FAMILY PROGRAMMING,” read a complaint from one Illinois viewer. . He goes on to accuse the network of broadcasting “gay men kissing, gay women kissing, sex scenes between men and women”.
Another complaint from a Chicago viewer states, “I continually see a push for blatant homosexuality on almost every news program, showing gay men kissing … Just as they have warnings with it. violence and nudity, people have the right to know if homosexual images in it.
“I have a 13-year-old autistic child and he’s confused like that! adds the person.
The show also received a number of complaints about male “nudity”. An Arizona viewer wrote to the FCC to express his disapproval of a scene in which a man “takes off his robe to show he was naked.”
“I was like what the hell!” they wrote.
And another Oklahoma viewer wrote to say he was absolutely appalled when a scene “showed a mother and father to have bare chests and part of the legs.”
This is not the first time that complaints from the FCC regarding Modern Family have been published. In 2015, Brian Sparks for MuckRock News obtained three pages of complaints via an FOIA request. These complaints also showed viewers were outraged by the sitcom’s alleged explicit gay content.
“Gay lifestyle described as normal behavior,” wrote one person from Michigan, adding that it was “[influencing] young children who think they are with the same sex [sic] the partner is fine and is normal.
OK, now we have a confession. We never really watched Modern Family when it was on air, but now that we know it was so kinky, we may have to go back and add it to our line-up.
