“X Factor” judge claims Britney Spears “was not there mentally”

A former X Factor judge claimed Britney Spears “was not there mentally” when she was a judge for the show.

X Factor UK judge Louis Walsh spoke about his work with the “Toxic” singer to The Irish Independent. Walsh replaced Simon Cowell at the Kansas City auditions while Cowell was at home with bronchitis at the time.

“I was sitting with Britney for two days, and after a few auditions she would go…” Walsh said at the outlet and mimicked Spears collapsing on the judges’ table.

“They should literally stop the show and take her out because she was on so many drugs and stuff. I felt sorry for her, “he said.

“There she was, the greatest pop star on the planet, and she was just sitting there physically, but she wasn’t there mentally,” Walsh added. “She had a lot of problems.

Spears judged Season 2 of the US version of The X Factor in 2012 alongside Cowell, Demi Lovato, and LA Reid. For one season, Spears won $ 15 million.

The reporter asked Walsh if she should have been judging at the time or getting help.

“She was getting millions of dollars to do it, so why wouldn’t she sit there?” he has answered.

Spears later shared that she hadn’t enjoyed some of her time on the reality singing contest. She did not want to criticize the candidates and was anxious to make decisions and comment on the candidates.

“I had a panic attack after a panic attack,” she told Elle after the show aired. “I got over it quickly, however, and realized I was helping them by being honest.” She later added that she wanted to protect the hopes and dreams of the younger applicants.
