BIOGRAPHY OF ZACHARY LEVI
Born on September 29, 1980 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Zachary Levi and his family toured the United States for a long time before finally settling in Ventura, California. Already at the age of six, little Zachary showed interest in singing, dancing and acting, in fact the first theater performances in regional productions date back to this age. In 2001 he made his debut on the small screen with the show Big Shot: Confessions of a Campus Bookie and later he is the narcissistic and selfish Kipp of the sitcom Perfect … but not too much (2002). After a series of sporadic participations in episodes of various TV series, Levi receives his first role in the cinema with FBI: Operation nanny (2006), where he plays Agent Kevin.
The success for the American actor, however, comes in 2007 with the starring role in Chuck, a series that earned Levi not only fame, but also the Teen Choice Award for Best Actor and positive reviews from critics. In addition to being a great opportunity to emerge internationally, Chuck also offers the actor the opportunity to compete with directing: in fact, during the five seasons of the series he directs some episodes.
Riding the wave of success, Levi covers several parts both on TV and on the big screen, but he is still far from actual fame, as his name is too tied to the character of Chuck Bartowski. In 2009 he is in the cast of Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 in the role of Toby, who suddenly finds himself forced to look after the Chipmunks, ready to combine them of all colors. He later joins the cast of Thor: The Dark World (2013), sequel to the first film about the god of thunder, in which he plays Fandral, one of Marvel’s Three Asgardian Warriors and Thor’s fellow adventures; Levi will reprise the same role in 2017 in Thor Ragnarok.
In recent years his fortune seems more linked to the small screen, where he receives main and most important parts; among these we remember that of Gus, a former NASA employee paired with Molly aka Alexis Bledel in the dramatic Remember me again (2013), and that of Luke in Heroes Reborn (2015), reebot of the 2006 sci-fi series. In 2019 comes another great opportunity for the actor, who is offered the role of superhero in Shazam!, a film produced by DC Entertainment about a teenager who is “given” some extraordinary powers.
