Joe Gebbia studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). As a student of RISD, Gebbia met Brian Chesky, one of the co-founders of Airbnb. Gebbia earned the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Industrial Design in 2005. Joe Gebbia also completed his business coursework at Brown University and MIT.

After Joe Gebbia’s graduation, from RISD, he worked at the Chronicle Books in San Francisco. In the meantime, Brian Chesky moved to Los Angeles.
