Hollywood pays homage to the great DMX.

Rapper TI added, “No words can mend the loss the hip-hop community has felt today.”

“Too young, too soon,” singer Kehlani said. “Leaving behind countless paths of inspiration. Rest easy legend.”

The rapper’s family confirmed the death of DMX in a statement on Friday April 9 after he allegedly suffered an overdose that resulted in a heart attack on April 2.

“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our beloved DMX, birth name Earl Simmons, has passed away at the age of 50 at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after have been placed on respiratory assistance in recent days. The statement read, according to People.

“Earl was a warrior who fought to the very end. He loved his family with all his heart and we treasure the times we spent with him. Earl’s music has inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we mourn the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. “
