BIOGRAPHY OF MICHAEL BAY

Film director. The son of adoptive parents (his real father is said to be very famous in Hollywood), he studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Rejected from the film faculty of the University of South California, he then graduated from Wesleyan University and began working shooting commercials and video clips. At 24, he entered the world of music videos working for the likes of Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Meatloaf, Wilson Phillips and Donny Osmond, winning several MTV Award nominations, which he then won in 1992. He also directed some of the most famous and successful worldwide advertising campaigns for which, in 1995, he was named ‘Directors of Guild of America’ as the best advertising director of the year. The same year he made his feature film directorial debut with ‘Bad Boys’ in which he invested much of his earnings to re-shoot a spectacular scene. In 1996, the public hit ‘The Rock’ followed, starring Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage.In 1999, he directed his third film, ‘Armageddon – The Final Judgment’, which recorded a global gross of over $ 550 million in Worldwide.
