BIOGRAPHY OF ALEX BRITTI
He began playing the guitar at 8 and at seventeen he founded his first blues group, with which he performed in Roman clubs. Later he participated in Italian blues festivals and performed with Louisiana Red, and then became the supporter of American bluesmen passing through Italy: from Paul Jones to Buddy Miles, up to Billy Preston and the European tour with Rosa King (1990). [1]. In the meantime he began to write songs in Italian and in 1992 he had his first recording experience as a songwriter: for Fonit Cetra he recorded the album Alex Britti. The record goes unnoticed and Britti continues his instrumental career. In 1994 he took part with his trio in the May Day Concert in Rome, as well as in 1995. In that same year he was a regular guest at Generation X and participated in the theatrical show Radio Estetica by F. Bertini. Meanwhile he also devoted himself to cinema, composing the soundtracks of the films Men without women (1995) and Stressati (1996). In 1996 he also inaugurated the new recording contract with Universal by releasing the single What I want, without however abandoning the instrumental activity: on May 4, 1998 he opened the Milanese concert of BB King. But 1998 finally gave Britti success with the general public: his single Only once (or whole life) jumped to the top of the Italian charts, becoming a summer hit.
