Pass the Kleenex.
The trailer for the Ben Platt-let film adaptation of Broadway hit Dear Evan Hansen has arrived.
The film – which sees Platt reprise his Tony Award-winning role in the stage version – follows Evan, an anxious and awkward teenager who tries to survive high school. He also harbors a secret crush on Zoe (Kaitlyn Dever) sister of Connor (Colton Ryan), a classmate and sometimes bully of Evan. A misunderstanding after Conor’s sudden death leads Evan to develop a closer relationship with Zoe and their parents (Amy Adams & Danny Pino), and a surge of sympathy at school. Evan appreciates the attention first, before realizing that he has to tell the truth about his “friendship” with Connor.
