His acting career finally came to an end
After training at the Guilford School of Acting, James had his big chance in What a Girl Wants, which turned out to be the very first film role of his career. (“It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me,” he said of the film’s landing in a 2003 interview.) Following the success of this film and Raise Your Voice, the actor has been on television, appearing in the BBC crime drama The Innocence Project and a number of television dramas. His most recent role was in two episodes of the little-known 2012 docu series Dark Matters: Twisted But True.
He kept the music
The old kids of the 2000s may better remember the spiky-haired star who serenaded her co-stars with swoon-worthy ballads such as “Greatest Story Ever Told” and “You and Me.” According to his YouTube channel, the Briton continued to make music for several years after the heyday of his teen film, performing live acoustic originals including “Never Look Back” and “Slow Down Girl”.
