Shia LaBeouf ordered to attend therapy, anger management

Shia LaBeouf was ordered to complete anger management and therapy.

On Thursday, May 26, the Transformers actor appeared in court on charges of battery and petty theft. LaBeouf is due to complete a judicial diversion program within the next twelve months. Upon successful completion, he will avoid jail time and the charges will be dropped, according to E Online.

The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office told the outlet that LaBeouf must attend at least one therapy session per week. In addition, he must wear a SoberLink device and undergo a random alcohol test. During this 12-step rehabilitation program, he must remain completely sober and avoid violence, not possessing any weapons.

In addition to the therapeutic and behavioral aspects of his sentence, he must remain 100 meters from the scene of the incident and 100 meters from the victim without any contact with her. LaBeouf will return to court in August.

People reported that the charges stemmed from an alleged incident with Tyler Murphy that took place in Los Angeles on June 12. LaBeouf allegedly used force against Murphy and also took his hat off.

This is not LaBeouf’s only trial. In December, his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against him for sexual violence, assault and infliction of emotional distress. The singer claimed that during their relationship he “relentlessly” abused her physically, emotionally and mentally.

The goal of Twigs is not to seek money, but rather to seek justice and awareness of domestic violence.
