In case anyone has forgotten, Andrew Giuliani reminds everyone that he is not very smart

Although he proudly refused to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, even after his father nearly died from the virus last year, Republican gubernatorial hopeful Andrew Giuliani has staged indoor campaign events in violation. New York’s public health restrictions because, of course, he did.

Giuliani has posted all kinds of photos of himself indoors, maskless and standing side-by-side with employees at bagel stores, restaurants and pizzerias as he campaigns in upstate New York. .

He also posted a video of himself with his face uncovered inside a pizzeria chatting to reporters less than six feet away.

The 35-year-old claimed in his campaign announcement last month that he did not need to be vaccinated against the coronavirus because he had already caught the virus last November.

“I understand people want to make a big deal that I haven’t been vaccinated and still attend events, but I have the antibodies,” he said.

The CDC recommends that people get vaccinated even if they have had COVID-19, unless they have been treated with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma, in which case they should wait 90 days.

According to its website:

You must be vaccinated whether or not you have ever had COVID-19. This is because experts do not yet know how long you are protected against a new disease after your recovery from COVID-19. Even if you have already recovered from COVID-19, it is possible, although rare, that you will be infected again with the virus that causes COVID-19. Find out why getting the vaccine is a safer way to protect yourself than getting infected.

But all this scientific stuff doesn’t interest Giuliani, who thinks his own unscientific version of the facts is much more accurate.

“I am the science on this and the science shows that having the antibodies is good enough not only for me but also for all New Yorkers around me,” he falsely stated. “I’d rather listen to science than some bureaucrats in Albany.”

And it’s not just the campaign stops at rural restaurants where Giuliani shows up without a mask, putting himself and others at risk.

He recently posted a campaign video where he is seen strutting out of the Times Square subway station without any kind of face covering, despite emergency health rules that say public transportation is one of the rare places where masks must be worn at all times, regardless of whether a person is vaccinated.
