HOWARD DEUTCH BIOGRAPHY

Film director. He attended Ohio State University and soon after began his career in show business directing trailers and videos, including those of Billy Idol and Billy Joel. He begins directing plays at New York’s Ensemble Studio. His directorial debut is with the comedy ‘Bella in rosa’ (1986), a film that confirmed Molly Ringwald as one of the most promising actresses of the period. In 1987 he directed ‘A wonderful heartbeat’. Then it was the turn of ‘Wasn’t it a vacation? But a war’ (1988), with Dan Aykroyd and John Candy, ‘Article 99’ (1991), ‘Daddy I’ll fix you!’ (1994), ‘That’s Amore-Two irresistible seducers’ (1995), with Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Sophia Loren and Ann Margret, and ‘The Strange Couple II’ (1999). In his career he won a CableACE Award for an episode of the HBO series ‘Tales From the Crypt’, ‘Dead Right’.
