Which Zoey 101 actors supported Britney Spears in the #FreeBritney movement?
After the “Toxic” singer’s guardianship hearing, two former Nickelodeon stars took to social media about Britney.
Paul Butcher, who played Zoey’s little brother Dustin Brooks, shared a selfie with #FreeBritney before writing a touching post.
“It breaks my heart to hear what Britney had to say and to hear what she’s been through,” he wrote in an Instagram story. “From someone who knew her firsthand, I was in awe and viewed her as a child with pure wonder. She always had the kindest heart and always had magic about her, a light.”
He later added, “My prayer is that she live the life SHE wants to live.”
Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole Bristow on the series, shared a series of informative posts about Britney’s speech.
“I support her,” she wrote. In follow-up messages, she added: “This is heartbreaking. WTF? This is so horrible.”
In 2005, it was reported to the Denver Post that Britney “started screaming that Alexa was an” evil little girl “” while on the set of Zoey 101 and should watch herself or herself. “will never work in this town again.!”
A spokesperson for Jamie Lynn told the outlet, “Jamie Lynn and another girl on set were having issues, as 13-year-olds do. Britney had words with the girl, but felt she was standing up for her sister.
Jamie Lynn Spears has not addressed Britney since the guardianship hearing. However, she turned off her Instagram comments following a major backlash. According to The Blast, Jamie Lynn has been appointed trustee of a trust created for the children of Britney, Jayden and Sean.
While she didn’t comment on the guardianship itself, she did call up the documentary Framing Britney Spears which came out in February 2021.
“Dear media, try not to repeat the mistakes of your past. Look where it got us. Do better, ”she wrote in an Instagram story according to People.
