Megan Fox “went to hell” on drug trip with Machine Gun Kelly

Actress Megan Fox recently shared how she psychologically “went to hell for eternity” during a planned drug experiment in Costa Rica with her romantic partner, musician Machine Gun Kelly.

The Midnight in the Switchgrass star took part in the adventure of guest host Arsenio Hall in an appearance on Monday night (July 12) Jimmy Kimmel Live. Midway through the interview, Fox shared how she stumbled upon ayahuasca, a psychoactive South American infusion, alongside rocker Tickets to My Downfall.

“We went to Costa Rica to do ayahuasca in a suitable setting with natives,” Fox explains of the trip, “and we were in the middle of the jungle.”

The actress adds that she initially thought the surroundings would be more accommodating, “like ‘glamping’ or something,” she says, “it will always be a five star experience when you get there. [But] you are in the middle of the jungle and you cannot eat after 1 pm. You have to walk very far to get water. … Nothing glamorous about it. “

Before taking ayahuasca, however, Fox and Kelly – rapper-turned-rocker real name Colson Baker – participated in a ritualistic ceremony that forced participants to vomit.

“We were with 20 other strangers,” the actress recalls, “and you all line up at the edge of the rainforest over that weird fence… and drink lemongrass tea until you, of your own free will throw up all of your body. “

Finally, Fox and her boyfriend drank psychedelic ayahuasca – and, judging by the actress’ recap of later events, the drug trip was unlike anything she had experienced before.

“We were doing [ayahuasca] for three nights, ”Fox continues. “It was incredibly intense. Everyone’s journey is different – the second night I went to hell for all eternity. And just knowing that eternity is torture in and of itself because there was no beginning, middle, or end, so you had real ego death. … It’s your own psychological hell, basically. “

After all, that’s “the point of the drug, isn’t it?” asks the actress.

“It’s beyond anything you can do with talk therapy or hypnotherapy or anything like that,” she presumes. “It goes right into your soul, and it takes you into the psychological prison that you lock yourself in. So it’s your own version of hell, and I was definitely there.”
