Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is outraged that the White House is working with Facebook and other social media platforms to stop the spread of Covid disinformation.
Yesterday at a White House press conference, government spokeswoman Jen Psaki explained some of the measures taken by the government.
“We have increased the research and tracking of disinformation within the Surgeon General’s office. We report problematic Facebook posts that spread misinformation, we work on doctors and healthcare professionals, to connect medical experts, who are popular with their audiences, with accurate information and build trust content. So we help distribute content you can trust.
Sounds pretty reasonable, right?
Not to Boebert, who re-tweeted a few clips of Psaki giving his answers.
“Who decides on the disinformation about an experimental vaccine? Said Boebert. “Are these the same doctors who have changed their minds almost every week for the past fifteen months?” In addition, Psaki openly encourages censorship.

Yesterday, US Surgeon General Dr Vivek Murthy posted a 22-page notice on the damage caused by Covid misinformation.
“I urge all Americans to help slow the spread of health misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
“Health disinformation is a serious threat to public health. It can create confusion, sow mistrust, harm people’s health, and undermine public health efforts. Limiting the spread of health misinformation is a moral and civic imperative that will require an effort from the whole of society. “
His warnings come as states begin to see an increase in the more contagious Delta variant of Covid-19. Yesterday, Los Angeles County said it was reinstating its mandate as a mask for interior spaces, a month after its economy fully reopened. This decision came after “significant community transmission”, mainly among the unvaccinated.
Boebert’s latest attempts to criticize everything that comes out of the Biden administration has attracted much criticism online.

You don’t understand the science, so we can start there. Since you clearly don’t understand that viruses change and mutate (variants), the facts are beyond you. Don’t try too hard to figure out how science is trying to cope with a global pandemic with an evolving virus.
