Style icons Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn re-team in this Amazon series, which – no small coincidence – also includes fashion, designers, runway shows, projects, and a cash prize. Making The Cut follows a group of 10 aspiring fashionistas overseen by Gunn and Klum. Unlike another acclaimed reality contest which also featured the pair – and will go unnamed – the stakes for Making the Cut are much higher: winners of the show get their own branded Amazon tag over 1 million. of dollars. Additionally, Jeff Bezos’ deep pockets add considerable production value to the show, like Klum, Gunn & co. jet set around the world to one exotic location after another.
Along with the glitz, glamor, and the opportunity for some very talented queer performers to shine, we love Making the Cut for the class of Gunn and Klum, whose true friendship radiates every time they appear on screen together. This show doesn’t want to be a typical reality show – full of groans, backstabbing, and silliness, in which the real competition is to see how far each character can lower the bar of dignity. Making the Cut elevates its competitors by rewarding them for their ingenuity, innovation and outright talent. With the new season kicking off on July 16, we think it’s a good opportunity to kick back, relax and watch the glitter on the podium. Doing so while wearing one of Tim Gunn’s signature skinny suits is strictly optional.
