They say admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Unfortunately, Rudy Giuliani is not there yet.
“I’m not an alcoholic,” the former New York mayor told local media this week in another completely lopsided and pointless interview. “I am a functional! I probably function more efficiently than 90% of the population! “
When asked if he had ever given an interview while intoxicated, Giuliani first replied “never” and then quickly modified his answer to say, uh, actually he doesn’t think so. have done, but he is not 100% sure.
“I don’t think I’ve ever done an interview while intoxicated,” he said. “I mean, I drink normally. I like the scotch. I drink scotch.
In the same interview, Giuliani, who was recently pictured shaving at a table in an airport restaurant, said he was aware people thought he was “derailed”, but “I m ‘cares”.
“What has happened is that our country has derailed,” he said. “I am exactly the same person. They have changed!”
Regarding the billion dollar libel lawsuit he’s involved in, as well as the federal investigation into his alleged illegal dealings with Ukraine, the 77-year-old says it’s a whole lot de houey and that he “did not do anything wrong”.
“It is as unconstitutional as it gets,” he said. “Investigate my life, even my time as mayor for a crime or something they can twist into a crime. “
“They are not nice. They’ve been investigating me for two and a half years!
In a follow-up text with the reporter, Giuliani appeared to imply that the reports of his dire financial situation are true and that his bank accounts are nearly depleted, writing that investigators “may be on the verge of bankruptcy. Live in [sic] they destroy equal justice and I will beat them because I did nothing wrong and they have become distorted, unethical and even illegal prosecutors.
Yeah! It really sounds like a “functioning” adult who is not an alcoholic to us.
