Former Smallville star Allison Mack is set to be sentenced this week for her involvement in the Nxivm sex cult.

The actress is currently facing 15 years in life in prison after pleading guilty to one count of racketeering and one count of racketeering conspiracy last year for her role in securing young women as sex slaves for the founder and cult leader of Nxivm, Keith Raniere.
Prior to his conviction, Mack issued a contrite statement as well as a letter from his defense team with their recommendations on sentencing guidelines in an effort to avoid any time behind bars.
“It is now of paramount importance for me to say, from the bottom of my heart, that I am truly sorry,” Mack’s letter read. “I threw myself into Keith Raniere’s teachings with all I had. I believed, with all my heart, that his mentorship was leading me to a better, more enlightened version of myself. I dedicated my loyalty. , my resources and ultimately my life, it was the biggest mistake and the biggest regret of my life.
“I’m sorry for those of you who I brought to Nxivm,” she continued, addressing the cult victims directly. “I’m sorry that I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a crooked man. I’m sorry that I encouraged you to use your resources to participate in something that was ultimately so ugly. I don’t take it lightly. the responsibility that I have in the lives of those I love and I feel a heavy weight of guilt for having abused your trust leading you down a negative path. “
In their sentencing recommendation, Mack’s lawyers ask her not to spend time in jail because she has “done serious wrongs and deserved her sentence” and “publicly denounced Raniere (and her own previous association with Raniere ) in the strongest possible terms. “
For his part in the years-long cult of abuse, Raniere was sentenced to 120 years in prison on federal charges of sex trafficking, extortion, racketeering and obstruction of justice.
Mack’s sentence is expected to be handed down on Wednesday, June 30.
