BIOGRAPHY OF AVA DUVERNAY

Ava Marie DuVernay was born on August 24, 1972 in Long Beach, California, and grew up between Lynwood and Compton. Her mother’s second marriage to the owner of a flooring company leads her to spend summers in Hayneville, Alabama, a town that will later provide inspiration for her. Selma.
