Donald Trump is good enough at drawing a crowd when tickets are free, but it turns out not many people are willing to pay to see him rant and raving live. The former president is reportedly in big trouble with ticket sales ahead of his next speaking tour with former FOX News expert Bill O’Reilly.
For a guy who is obsessed with crowd size, that must sting a bit.
Last month, Trump and O’Reilly announced their so-called “History Tour” scheduled for December 2021. It “won’t be boring,” O’Reilly teased, setting the bar so low you could trip over it. It will be “fun, fun, fun for all who attend,” Trump said, as if reading the invitation to a 6-year-old’s birthday party. (There will be two kinds of cake!)

Admission won’t be cheap. Tickets, which went on sale in June, will cost you anywhere from $ 100 to $ 300. Or you can opt for the “VIP Meet & Greet Package” and say goodbye to $ 8,500 or more. Because who wouldn’t want a commemorative photo of themselves stuck between Trump and O’Reilly sticking in the fridge?
Politico has confirmed to arena officials that ticket sales for the events are lagging far behind other acts.
“We have gigs that do a lot better than that,” said an anonymous employee of the Amway Center in Orlando. By comparison, a Bad Bunny concert sold the 20,000-seat hall in less than two days.

It’s a similar story in Dallas and Houston, where up to 65% of tickets go unsold.
Adding salt to the wound, Politico points out that other former presidents have generally had no trouble selling seats at speaking events. Bill and Hillary’s Live Nation tours in 2018 and 2019 sold out within weeks, and Michelle Obama embarked on a hugely popular book tour for “Becoming” in 2018.
“The History Tour has already sold over $ 5 million in tickets, and the excitement and enthusiasm is unlike anything we’ve seen before,” Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington said in a hyperbolic statement that is perfectly detached from reality. “In December, the sold-out shows will be a night to remember for all.”

Meanwhile, the Republican National Congressional Committee resorted to the event with urgent gifts and gadgets. “Do you like Trump? Want to see him speak live? Enter now to win 2 tickets to Trump’s tour with Bill O’Reilly. The link to enter expires in 1 hour, ”they texted their lists this week.
While representatives for Trump and O’Reilly brag about all the money they’ve already put in the bank with the event and already call it “one of the most lucrative of all time,” they don’t. cited no actual figures on the ticket office.
