Blake Lively doesn’t let the paparazzi exploit her children.
On Friday July 16, the former Gossip Girl hit back at Daily Mail Australia after the tabloid posted deceptive photos of her family. The photos made Lively look like she was smiling at the paparazzi with her three young children James, 6, Inez, 4, and Betty, 21 months. The outing also didn’t blur the children’s faces.
“You edit these images together to make it look like I’m waving happily, but that’s misleading,” she began. “The real story: My kids were being harassed by a man all day, jumping out, then hiding. A stranger on the street started talking to them because it was so upsetting for her to see. I tried to calmly approach the photographer you hired to take these pictures to talk to him, he would run away and jump to the next block again. “
She asked if they did background checks on photographers they “pay to stalk children.” She asked where their morality was and if they even cared about children.
Lively explained that she managed to convince the photographers who agreed to talk to her to take pictures of her smiling and waving without her children in the photo. She said it was a “scary” situation for her family.
“Please stop paying adults to hide and chase children. There are a lot of pictures you could have posted without the children. Please delete them,” she concluded.
In 2018, Lively personally reached out to fans on social media to remove photos of her children taken at Martha Stewart’s Easter party.
“Thanks for your support, but please delete this photo right away,” Lively wrote at the time. “It was taken without my knowledge or without my consent by a man in hiding. Thank you !!!!”
