Caitlyn Jenner’s disastrous campaign for governor is even more dire than we thought.
According to recent documents, from the launch of her campaign until the end of July, Jenner has raised approximately $ 747,000 from approximately 1,500 donors. Not bad for a candidate for polls at just 3%.
But this is where things take a turn for the worse.
Because despite raising almost $ 750,000, Jenner spent the money. She spent about $ 910,000, leaving her over $ 150,000 in debt. And the election is still over a month away.
This puts her in a terrible situation.
To make matters worse, his Democratic opponent, Governor Gavin Newsom, has raised over $ 40 million.
In addition to fundraising, Jenner peddled campaign merchandise, including beer koozies, pint glasses, and dog leashes, to try and earn some extra cash.
But none of that seems to be enough to pay for his lavish campaign expenses, which include $ 1,800 spent on a “staff meeting” held at a posh sushi bar in Malibu, and $ 1,300 spent on limousine service. who transported it around Los Angeles, according to Depots.
Spokesman Steven Cheung said the campaign was not concerned about its dire financial situation, insisting it had “robust” donors who will keep the operation “fully funded to enter the home stretch. elections with the resources to end Gavin Newsom’s term as governor. . “
Except the documents show the campaign to be the exact opposite of “fully funded” and that it is the home stretch of the election, with postal voting starting in mid-August before the vote on the 14th. September.
In other Jenner news, she will miss a debate among other Republican candidates vying for the Newsom job. The Richard Nixon Foundation will host a debate tonight that will include four GOP candidates: John Cox, Kevin Faulconer, Kevin Kiley and Doug Ose.
Jenner won’t be there, however, as she’s in Australia to film a reality show. But Cheung also doesn’t seem to think it’ll be a problem because she’s famous.
“Caitlyn has broad name recognition,” he says, “to the tune of 99%, while other applicants have to spend large sums of money to increase their name recognition.”
