Cardi B responds to Queerbaiting accusations

Cardi B has slammed the accusations that she was queer in her latest clip.

On Friday (July 23), the rapper addressed the social media backlash that accused Cardi B of queerbaiting, which is a “fiction and entertainment marketing technique in which the creators hint at, but don’t actually portray, a homosexual or other LGBTQ romance + representation. “

Cardi B and Normani starred in their collaborative video, “Wild Side,” where the two are seen naked and dancing on top of each other. Social media users who attacked Cardi may not have realized that she was a member of the LGBTQ + community and had a growing baby bump. Rolling Stone published an article about the performers who were charged with the act, including Cardi, who responded to the charge.

“Uuummmm @RollingStone queerbaiting? You know we were trying to hide a whole baby bump, right?” Cardi B wrote, referring to her current pregnancy with her second child with husband Offset.

“I am also married to a man but I have express[ed] so much about my bisexuality and my experiences with [sic] girls, “she added.” All of a sudden, ‘queerbaiting’ is the new word and people are using it on the ground! “

“I don’t like that new word ‘queerbaiting’,” she added in a follow-up tweet. “I feel like it puts pressure on the artist to talk about his sexuality or his experiences that he doesn’t feel comfortable talking about.[n] artist kiss girl on video does that mean she has to show videos and text wit [sic] other women? “

Last year, Cardi turned out to be bisexual following homophobic accusations from earlier videos for which she has since apologized.

“I don’t support the LGBT community because I have ‘gay fans’ that I support because of the confused feelings I grew up on, is it okay to love girls? I support because I know how to how difficult it was for my gay cousin to come to his very strict Dominican family, ”she tweeted at the time.
