CLAIRE FOY BIOGRAPHY
Claire Foy, born Claire Elizabeth Foy, was born on April 16, 1984 in Stockport, England. She grew up between Manchester and Leeds, due to the frequent commuting of her family for work, until she settled in Longwick, Buckinghamshire. The family solidity, however, did not last long and at the age of eight little Cliare had to witness the divorce of her parents. After graduating from Aylesbury High School for girls, she attended Liverpool John Moores University, where she studied acting and screenwriting, and later a one-year course at the Oxford School of Drama. During the latter period, Foy took part in several theatrical comedies, competing for the first time with acting, and then participated in some shows at the Royal National Theater.
After graduating in 2007, she moved to Peckham. The following year the first roles for TV arrive and above all the first starring role in the costume series Little Dorrit, for which she was nominated for an RTS Award. He continued to act on the small screen in Upstairs Downstairs (2010), The Propomise (2011) and in the show The Night Watch (2011). In the meantime he alternated his television career with a theatrical career with plays of a certain level, among which we remember the Macbeth staged at Trafalgar Studios, where he shared the stage with James McAvoy.
In 2011 Foy made her debut in the cinema with The last of the Templars, horror movie starring Nicolas Cage in which the actress plays a young woman accused of witchcraft. In the same year he is on the big screen with Wreckers, where he is the protagonist together with Benedictc Cumberbatch. Later he returns to TV with the film Hacks (2012) and series White Heat (2012) and Crossbones (2014); he will have to wait until 2014 to return to the cinema, but he will do so with two films: fantasy Vampire Academy is Rosewater (2014) of Jon Stewart.
In 2015 she is Queen Anne Boleyn in the miniseries Wolf Hall, an interpretation that earned her critical praise and was nominated for the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Claire Foy also wears the crown for the next role, that of a young Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix series. The Crown (2016), a performance that earned her the Golden Globe, Screen Actor Guild Award and Emmy Award.
In 2017 he is in the cast of Your every breath of Andy Serkis, biopic starring Andrew Garfield as British activist Robin Cavendish. The following year is Steven Soderbergh to entrust her with the main role in the thriller Unsane (2018), film shot entirely with an iPhone. 2018 will prove to be a very productive year for the actress; in fact it will also be at the cinema with two other films: the thriller The one that doesn’t kill of Faith Álvarez, fifth film in the Millenium saga, and First Man – The first man of Damien Chazelle, biopic about Neil Amostrong, played here by Ryan Gosling.
