BIOGRAPHY OF CLARITA GATTO
Actress. At the beginning of the 70s he studied acting at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Bologna and in 1976 with “L’idealista” (adapted and directed by Francesco Macedonio) and “Roulette” (directed by Roberto Guicciardini) he began to play theater stages participating over the years in various other productions: “Volpone” and “Misura per Misura” (both of 1977 directed by Luigi Squarzina), “Celestina Gatta Gattina” (1980, directed by Daniele D’Anza), the adaptation by Mario Scaccia of “La Mandragola” by Niccolò Machiavelli in 1984 and, in 1991, “Lulù” directed by Tinto Brass. In 1978 he made his debut in the cinema with the films “The children do not touch each other” by Nello Rossati and “Where do you go on vacation?” by Luciano Salce. Between the ’80s and’ 90s he worked in a dozen genre films, mainly comedies – “The honorable with the lover under the bed” (1981, by Mariano Laurenti), “Acapulco, first beach on the left” (1983 , by Sergio Martino), “Bellifreschi” (1987, by Enrico Oldoini), “Heroic mission: firefighters 2” (1987, Giorgio Capitani) – but also dramatic films such as “Bad Heart” (1994) by Umberto Marino. To his credit he has also appeared in films such as “Intervista” (1987) by Federico Fellini and “Paprika” by Tinto Brass. There are also several forays on the small screen. After having conducted with Alberto Lupo, in 1979, a program entitled “Buonasera con …” on Rai 2, in 1981 he co-starred (alongside Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci and Peter Ustinov) of the film “Venice, carnival, one love” by Mario Lanfranchi and in the same year he also participated in the adaptation of the short story “Winter of the sick” by Alberto Moravia, made by Carlo Lizzani. His other works on television also include the fiction series “Carabinieri 3” (2004), “District di police 5” (2005) and the film “Piper” (2006) by Carlo Vanzina. In 2001 he is back in the theater with “Scherzi” directed by Edoardo Sala and in 2010 he returns to act on the big screen in the film “Tutti al mare”, directorial debut of Matteo Cerami.
