BIOGRAPHY OF DAMIANO DAMIANI
Writer and director. After studying painting at the Brera Academy in Milan, in 1946 he moved to Rome where he entered the cinema as a set designer and screenwriter of non-important works. After an intense documentary activity, in 1959, he made his directorial debut with “Il rossetto”. In the sixties he directed “Il Sicario” (1961) and “La repatriata” (1963) but above all “L’isola di Arturo” (1963, from a novel by Moravia), “Il Giorno della Civetta” (1968, from a written by Leonardo Sciascia), “Confession of a police commissioner to the Public Prosecutor” (1970) “The investigation is closed” (1971). From the Eighties is “The investigation” (1986) set in the time of Christ. Among other things, he enjoyed considerable success with the public with the serial television drama “La Piovra” (1984).
