Where did Rihanna’s shark tattoo go?
On Wednesday (June 23), the “Umbrella” singer was pictured dating her boyfriend A $ AP Rocky in New York City. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that his camouflage-print shark tattoo on his left ankle was covered in new ink.
The new tattoo is a black crown that apparently wraps around her ankle, where her matching tattoo with her ex-boyfriend Drake was. Drake had a similar shark on his inner forearm in 2016.
A source tells E! News that the tattoo was of “special significance” to the former couple. Drake and Rihanna dated between 2009 and 2016. During their relationship, they visited an aquarium in Toronto, Canada, where Drake bought her a stuffed shark, which apparently refers to the meaning of the tattoo.
Famous tattoo artist Bang Bang created Rihanna’s piece. “Camo shark for my dear friend @badgalriri,” he captioned an Instagram post of his work.
During the night between Rihanna and A $ AP, they were denied entry to a bar. A fan posted video of the couple’s meeting with a bouncer at the Barcade in Harlem. The security guard asks for ID while the couple explained that they did not have their ID cards with them.
The video showed numerous bar patrons explaining to the bouncer that they were famous and over the age of 21. They were then allowed in and play retro video games and apparently had a great time.
Things between A $ AP and Rihanna seem to be getting serious. In an interview with GQ in May, A $ AP called Ri-Ri “the love of my life.”
