Continuing to display a knack for not knowing lows, Donald Trump Jr. once again faces backlash for saying something no one else ever thought of saying. This time it was social media comments celebrating the destruction of a George Floyd mural in Toledo, Ohio.
The mural was struck by lightning, and the former president’s eldest son probably thought he was smart enough when he joked that it was an act of God to “tell us something here” .

“It will drive some people crazy, but hey,” Trump wrote on Instagram and Twitter alongside a photo from an article about the event. “I mean, you must be wondering if someone, like a Higher Power, is telling us anything here?!? Obviously what happened to George Floyd should never happen anywhere !!! That said, objectively speaking, given his history, I’m not sure turning him into a deity and role model for our children is exactly the right idea, either. Also, please don’t tell me they aren’t trying to turn him into a role model / hero, there are statues of him all over the country etc. The same fools who want to erase our founding fathers want statues of this man everywhere. Again, we can learn from a dire situation, but the pendulum always seems to correct way too far these days. “
We assume that when Trump Jr. says “fools who want to erase our Founding Fathers,” he is referring to the growing movement to remove Jim Crow-era monuments to Confederate military leaders, none of whom are “fathers. founders ”, but we digress.
In the Instagram comments, he added, “I mean, when was the last time you heard of a building destroyed by lightning? A brick wall that is not a conductor of electricity? This stuff really doesn’t happen that often.
And on Twitter, he added, “I’m a builder and I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of it.”

The comments got a lot of responses on Twitter, and people really rolled their eyes to this “I’m a Builder” part.
