BIOGRAPHY OF EMMA DANTE

Director, screenwriter and actress. He graduated in 1990 from the Silvio D’Amico Academy and in 1999 he founded the Sud Costa Occidentale company. His shows are successfully represented in Italy and abroad, receiving numerous awards. In 2009 he inaugurated the season of the La Scala theater by directing Bizet’s “Carmen”, while in 2011 he made his debut with “Trilogy of glasses”. In 2012 he made his debut in Paris at the Opéra Comique with “La muta di Portici”, revived in 2013 at the Petruzzelli in Bari. His first novel “Via Castellana Bandiera”, winner of the Vittorini award and the Super Vittorini in 2009, becomes a film directed by Dante herself, then selected in competition at the 70th Venice International Film Festival. At the exhibition, “Via Castellana Bandiera” gets the recognition for the best actress (the Volpi Cup to Elena Cotta), the Francesco Pasinetti Award, the Lina Mangiacapre Award, the Special Mention Young Jurors Award of the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival and the Soundtrack Stars Award for the best soundtrack.
