EVANESCENCE BIOGRAPHY
Evanescence is an American alternative metal band, formed in Little Rock in 1995. The band takes its name from the word “evanescence”, meaning the state or act of vanishing. Their music is characterized by a fusion of alternative elements metal, gothic metal (especially at the beginning) and nu metal with symphonic influences. They have sold more than 20 million copies of their records since 2003, with the hit album Fallen and the successful follow-up The Open Door.
